Walsingham in Lockdown Reflections by Fr Gerard Mary Toman OFM Conv.
Fr Gerard Mary Toman is a Greyfriar – a member of the Order of Friars Minor, Conventual.
After ordination, he was asked by his order to serve at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. Eighteen months after that, the world was gripped by the Covid-19 Pandemic and the Shrine was Locked Down.
These Reflections are an account of England’s National Shrine of Our Lady during the first 100 days of Lockdown. They are by turns beautiful, moving, funny and theological – but above all, they are an important record of a time unique in more than 900 years of Walsingham’s history.
